In “Being John Malkovich”, the puppeteer guy’s show is called “Eloisa to Abelard”.  And in “Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind”, Kirsten Dunst quotes Pope err Alexander Pope again from “Eloisa to Abelard”.

How happy is the blameless vestal’s lot!

Well, the point is, why is Charlie Kaufman influenced by this poem?

Jonze was married to Sofia Coppola for about 4+ years. The character of John(Scarlett Johanson’s Husband in the movie) , a career-driven photographer (Giovanni Ribisi) in Coppola’s Lost In Translation (2003), was rumored to be based on Jonze, though Coppola has vehemently denied this.

Being John Malkovich was not that good a movie as i expected it to be. Will see Kaufman’s Adaptation..
